New 2020 Ford Super Duty Tops Segment with Torque, Towing Capacity

Ford has finally unveiled the new 2020 Super Duty line of heavy-duty trucks, and they're wasting no time in claiming the leading position in torque, towing, and payload.

The heavy-duty torque wars are in full swing, and truck manufacturers have been vying for the top position in power and capability. Across the board, brands have been striving to produce trucks with more power and capability than ever before.

The latest achievement comes from Ford with the reveal of the 2020 Super Duty lineup. These new trucks lead the pack with up to 37,000 pounds of gooseneck towing, up to 24,200 pounds of conventional towing, and a payload capacity of up to 7,850 pounds. Needless to say, all of these numbers lead the class.

These astonishing numbers are made possible by the truck's new 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel V8 engine. This upgraded powerplant now makes 1,050 pound-feet of torque.

Don't count out the other available powertrains, though. A base 6.2-liter gas V8 is burly and capable as well, and an all-new 7.3-liter V8 cranks output up to 430 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque.

The 2020 Super Duty is more than a one-trick pony -- its capabilities expand beyond just towing and payload. The new Tremor Off-Road Package offers exceptional all-terrain performance and durability.
