The great thing about Tulare, CA is that you are not far from one of the world's premier national parks, Sequoia National Park. It's just an hour drive to the Northeast, and if you've got a free Saturday, it makes for a memorable day trip.
It's humbling to stand beneath the incredibly the skyscraper-like sequoia trees that dot the landscape and exploring the underground Crystal Cave is a geologist's dream. Everywhere you look, you'll find countless opportunities for a photo op and make sure you check out the famous Tunnel Tree.
