ALL ELECTRIC. ALL F-150.
The Ford F-150 hasn't just been the top truck in the U.S. for more than four decades; it's been the best-selling automobile overall. That makes the all-new F-150 Lightning perhaps the most significant addition to the electric vehicle landscape. The F-150 Lightning resurrects yet another class Ford nameplate, following the wildly successful Bronco 4x4 and Maverick compact pickup. And as an all-electric full-size truck with prodigious power, standard generator capability, and blazing acceleration, the moniker couldn't be more fitting. The Ford F-150 Lightning is scheduled for release Spring 2022, but drivers from Tulare to Fresno can reserve it now at Keller Ford in Hanford.

Safety Features

Safety Features
For safety and ease of driving, the 2022 Lightning will come with a host of standard driver-assistance features that include standard Automated Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection and standard Lane-Departure Warning with Lane-Keeping Assist.
Automated Emergency Braking is a pre-collision assist feature that uses camera technology to detect potential collisions with vehicles or pedestrians directly in front of your vehicle. If it detects such a collision, it emits an audio alert and a warning message in the car display message center. Lane-Departure Warning with Lane-Keeping Assist emits steering wheel vibrations that simulate driving over a rumble strip, and/or displays warnings in the message center when it detects repeated lane drifts, to remind you to pull over and take a break if you’re getting fatigued.
Available BlueCruise is an advanced feature that uses a driver-facing camera and radar-sensing technologies allowing for hands-free driving on prequalified sections of divided highways called Hands-free Blue Zones that make up more than 100,000 miles of North American roads. *

Performance

Performance, Range, and Charging
The F-150 Lightning is powered by a pair of in-board electric motors, with a choice of two battery sizes. Standard capacity models produce 426 horsepower and 775 pound-feet of torque and achieve an EPA-estimated 230 miles of range. With the extended-range battery, the Lightning boosts power and range to 563 hp and 300 miles, respectively, and enables a max tow rating of 10,000 pounds. It's important to note that range estimates account for a payload of 1,000 pounds. So, unladen range should be significantly more.
The 80-amp Ford Charge Station Pro (included with extended-range models) generates peak charging power of 19.2 kW and can charge the standard battery in about 10 hours. The extended-range battery can replenish faster (~8 hours) thanks to dual onboard chargers. And with 150-kW DC fast charging, either battery can charge 15–80% in under 45 minutes.
Ford Intelligent Backup Power
The battery in the F-150 Lightning not only powers the truck; it can also run your home. The available Ford Intelligent Backup Power system integrates with the 80-amp Ford Charge Station Pro to offboard up to 9.6 kW of peak energy. So, if the grid ever goes down, a fully charged extended-range Lightning can power a house for up to three days (based on 30-kWh per day) or more if power is rationed.
Mega Power Frunk
Since the F-150 Lightning's powertrain is located underneath the truck, there's no engine to take up space under the hood. Instead, you'll find Ford's 14.1-cubic-foot Mega Power Frunk. This sealed storage compartment keeps stored items protected from the elements and has a payload capacity of 400 pounds. And since it's washable and drainable, you can stow dirty gear and clean it out easily when you get home. You'll also have access to 2.4 kW of exportable power from four standard 120V household-style outlets and USB-A and C ports.
